My Career Wasn't a Ladder
It Was a Lattice

I began my career in the mailroom at Owens & Minor, never imagining where that first job would eventually take me. Over 38 years, I moved across different areas of the business, took on new challenges, and ultimately served as Vice President, Industry Associations.
Along the way, I led and contributed to work across operations, distribution strategy, business acquisitions, third-party logistics, technology, service-line strategy, and clinical inventory solutions. Each experience broadened my perspective on the healthcare supply chain—and taught me more about leadership, communication, relationships, and how people get things done.
Some opportunities took me forward. Others took me sideways. Some were intentional choices to build new skills and broaden my experience; others were unexpected. I took calculated risks, stepped into roles I hadn't planned for, and learned that the next move doesn't always have to be up to move you forward.
What I learned is that careers aren't built by titles alone. They're shaped by the conversations we have, the connections we build, the risks we're willing to take, and our ability to recognize opportunity—even when it doesn't look like the next rung on a ladder.
Your career will be shaped by the conversations you have and the connections you build. Leadership begins with connection.
Why Coach Lyle
Real growth happens when insight leads to action. Whether you're investing in your team, planning an event, or navigating what's next in your own career, the right conversation can create clarity, build confidence, and change what happens next.
I bring lessons from a 38-year corporate career—from the mailroom to the Vice President level—to every keynote, coaching conversation, and facilitated session, combining relatable stories, practical insights, and the power of connection to make learning meaningful and useful.
The goal is simple: leave people feeling confident, connected, and ready to do something differently.
When I'm Not Holding a Microphone...
When I'm not speaking, coaching, or facilitating, you'll often find me spending time with family, enjoying the beach, or exploring someplace new. I love to travel—and I'm always ready for a good conversation along the way.
Just before officially launching Coach Lyle, I took a Viking cruise from Barcelona to Rome. It turned out to be the perfect way to mark the transition from one chapter of my career to the next—and the beginning of a new adventure.
